About Christopher
As an aspiring polyglot (someone who speaks 3+ languages), I decided to take a path of teaching English as a means of understanding deeper how languages function in and of themselves. After becoming highly fluent in Brazilian Portuguese after 2 years of study and exposure, I realized that I have a knack and passion for language learning and teaching, which led me to take a certified course in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) to further legitimize my credentials as an educator.
I am also a musician and traveller of the world. I love meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. It is an incredibly rewarding feeling to exchange language and ideas with people who come from somewhere very different than where I was raised.
I can assure that you will thoroughly enjoy and get a lot out of our classes!

My approach as a tutor is that a strong focus on speaking, listening, and pronunciation will quickly and greatly advance the student's learning. My method is to focus on conversation between myself and the student in a relaxed environment, utilizing the fact that I'm a native English speaker and also TEFL trained (soon certified), or be it, in teaching English as a foreign language.
If you are a native Portuguese speaker, we can also use your native language to translate various topics to English such as: sentence structures, connecting speech, subjunctive, comparing pronunciation, idiomatic expressions, etc.
My Spanish level is also high enough to help native Spanish speakers translate the majority of what they want to say to English.
A typical lesson with me will include a conversation in English on a given topic as well as grammatical and pronunciation corrections given by me as necessary. I am capable of working with levels from Beginner to Advanced and am confident that you will make consistent progress in your English with me!
