About Murissa

Howdy. My name is Murissa, but my students refer to me as Mrs. Finley. I truly am so glad to possibly have the opportunity to meet you, teach you, and help you gain confidence in dealing with math problems, problem solving, and numbers. I truly love what I do, and am passionate about helping anyone and everyone learn new skills and build upon ones that they already have.
Let's get started and build your confidence in math!

About the lesson

I believe filling in gaps are key to student being successful in math! I am passionate that every student, regardless of learning style, background, or interest has the ability to master any math problem in front of them. All we need is to get down to what isn't clicking, or maybe what is missing.

Once we have identified the gaps or needs of improvement, my lesson plan will be structured as followed: 1. Warm-up problem either introducing the new concept, or reviewing one. We will then talk about the problem. 2. Introduction to new concept. 3. Practice new concept, and clear up any miscommunication along the way. 4. Conclusion problem, or summary of concept, or how does this new concept relate to previous knowledge.

These lessons are Middle school math to Algebra 1.
