About Michael
I am an accomplished photographer whose personal work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums. With a career spanning over four decades, I began my journey mastering traditional large-format analog photography using 4x5 view cameras before transitioning into commercial photography. In the 1980s, I served as a key editorial photographer, shooting covers and high-profile assignments for two prominent magazines.
For 30 years, I owned and operated two highly successful commercial studios specializing in weddings, portraits, and children's photography. I started my current project "There Are Places" in 2018 documenting places whose history we have forgotten. That project was featured in a 2023 interview with the international news organization "The Epoch Times."
Today, I maintain a vibrant digital presence, connecting with an audience of over 10,000 followers on Facebook, sharing insights via YouTube, and engaging with dedicated supporters on Patreon.

I’ve always believed in the old advice: "Keep the main thing the main thing." That simplicity is the core of my teaching style. I don’t teach to show off my own work; I teach to build a legacy by helping you define yours. No matter where you are on your photographic journey—whether you want to go pro or just capture better everyday moments—I’m here to share my knowledge and help you achieve your goals. That’s why my lessons cut through the noise, making concepts easy to understand and effortless to practice on your own.
