About Sophie
I am an award-winning theatre director and dramaturg based in London. I have worked on large-scale productions in the West End and on Broadway with actors including Ian McKellen, Penelope Wilton, and Tom Hollander. I am the winner of the 2024 Stage Debut Award for Best Director and was a member of the 2024 National Theatre Directors Course cohort. I was the runner-up for the 2025 RTST Sir Peter Hall Award.
I enjoy working with students to build confidence, process, and execution. My experience in drama schools has focused on giving actors the toolkit to finesse performance and deliver on intention.

Rigorous focus on text work and performance, ranging from classical texts such as Shakespeare to new writing and contemporary work. Working to develop performance, voice, characterisation and tangible approaches to unlock a performance.
I have experience in the West End and on Broadway, working with actors of all calibres, and also in drama schools including LAMDA, Guildhall & Rose Bruford.
