About Mike
Many students think that mathematics, statistics or physics are just equations on a piece of paper. I'm here to prove them wrong. I love showing the bigger mathematical landscape that helps us understand and navigate the world, and I aim for those “aha” moments where things finally click.
I’m a theoretical physicist and AI student with an honours degree. During my academic career, I worked on statistical programmes for monitoring patient progress in hospitals and on projects improving efficiency in lab work. I also taught biophysics courses in Utrecht for over a year, showing the intersection of sciences to younger students.
I started tutoring already in high school, helping others see how intuitive and even fun these subjects can be. Since then, I’ve continued to help students move from confusion to clarity and to actually enjoy the process.

My lessons are 60 minutes long and always tailored to your needs and goals. I focus on creating “aha” moments, where concepts become clear and intuitive rather than something to memorise.
I explain topics step by step, using simple language and practical examples, so even difficult material becomes manageable. We can work on exam preparation, assignments, or specific topics you find challenging. I also show alternative ways to approach problems, helping you build confidence and flexibility in thinking.
I mainly work with high school students, adjusting the pace and style to suit your level, but I’m also happy to support university courses of all levels.
My goal is to help you not just solve problems, but truly understand what you’re doing.

Mike helped me out, when I was struggling with my biophysics course in uni. I am massively into biology, but the course itself really didn't seem to match my degree.
