About Be
I am just a totally obsessive music fan, 29 years old now and currently living with a friend In Torpoint. My chief interests in life would be Music and Homesteading. The latter temporarily on hold. I have been fairly obsessive regarding music of all varieties since I was a child. Although my first love's were 90's hip-hop/rap and Reggae. By the time I had reached my teens I was fully immersed in the world's of rock and metal, although chiefly my interest has always been with the guitar. Preferring to challenge myself with ever more technical pieces.
I spent a few years "WOOFING", or.. volunteering at various permaculture projects, backpacking with an acoustic and during this period gained quite the appreciation for more "campfire" playing, which has been invaluable to broadening my personal style. I am usually quite busy through the week these days as my significant other recently had a stroke, so I am often visiting the hospital as well as helping a couple I know with a small build of theirs.
Still, I am generally available 4 days a week, as I work from home anyway it is more than easy to find time for you, when it suits you.
All of my free-time/Downtime is spent learning and playing my chosen instrument, with a rigid minimum of 4 hours play time a day for the past 5 years, I honestly want to start teaching.. A) Because which guitarist wouldn't! and B) I actually look forward to "going back to basics" and creating routines/Courses for newer students. It's a good opportunity for me to go over all the things we musicians take for granted. As well an opportunity to teach somebody how to play, free from all of the niggling mistakes I would have made growing up.
The main thing to remember though! Do not become a permanent, play that guitar!
And have fun!

Well first and foremost, I'll tailor my lessons to each individual depending on skill level, areas of expertise or more importantly whichever elements of your playing need the most work.
Mostly, this will be decided by you, letting me know what styles you are most interested in, whether you want to learn particular songs, etc.
Depending on your ability I will aim to create custom practice routines which you can take away with you.. Fitting with your time availability.
And if you are completely new, I will spend extensive time teaching you the basics; Note location exercises, Fretboard memorization techniques and practice runs. As well as your first scales. Different chords, how they fit together and where to find them.
If you are completely new this will be quite a lot to start with
But everything will move at a pace you are comfortable with.
I could also if wanted print out or create PDF's for you to refer to at home, as well as pointing you towards useful online resources. Such as theory sites, your "Go-to" metronome for practicing with, and recommend some software to make playing as convenient as possible regardless of living situation.
Ultimately I aim to teach beginner to intermediate guitarists, with tailored crash courses in the fundamentals, so you can go home and play comfortably by yourself without having to learn other people's songs.. The aim is to bolster your creativity and ability to move about the fretboard.
But, I would be more than happy to teach you any songs you wish to learn as well.
Lessons I should expect to be an hour, although I would be open to far far longer sessions, I think an hour would be enough initially without becoming overwhelming. They key really is that you remember what we've gone through together, rather than trying to learn everything at once only to then forget most.
I tend to have whiteboards and charts around me with whatever I am currently working on myself, be that original music or exotic/rare scales, and have found myself becoming more and more drawn to polyrhythmic and eastern music as I get older. Essentially I will be working on stuff of my own as well as your lessons. And can easily incorporate anything you wish to study further into my daily routines in order to create a good plan for you going forwards.
My number and contact details would also be provided incase you need top up tips in your own time.
I am not looking to teach advanced students as we will likely be at a similar level, but I am not totally averse to the idea. Perhaps if styles differ it would be a good exercise anyway.

What you fee is what you get!
No, no hidden or additional costs. £15 an hour flat rate would be totally fine with me.
Any papers etc that I might hand out are cost negligible so no worries there.
Really this is a supplementary bonus income whilst allowing me to teach something I love.
If you want custom video lessons made for you then likewise, we can call that£15 provided I could upload it to a potential future youtube channel
