About Lois

Hi there! My name is Lois, I'm a 27 year old Londoner with a Mathematics BSc and PGCE Mathematics from King's College London, and a Data Science Immersive qualification from General Assembly, London. I spent two years teaching Maths at an inner city comprehensive school for 11-19 year olds and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I tutored many students alongside teaching in classrooms, with the syllabuses I have tutored privately ranging from the 11+ to Further Maths A-level. Since leaving the profession, I have continued to tutor Maths alongside other ventures. I am passionate about ensuring a deep understanding of mathematical concepts through interesting resources and discussion. I believe that every student is capable of understanding the mathematics they need to thrive as long as their needs are met with precision and care. My teaching and learning approach will vary throughout my time with a student, adapting to the needs of each individual to ensure that every student's confidence builds over time. Lois was a great tutor for my daughter Jessica. When we first met Lois, Jess was struggling with the basics and had very little confidence.
Over the months that Lois tutored Jess, she really helped her build on what she had already learned and developed her skillset so she was able to take on new challenges in her coursework and exams with more confidence.
Lois was also very professional to deal with, was always considerate of our time and seems to really care about her tutorees.

Lois tutored me while I was resitting my maths GCSE. As it had been a while since I was in full time education the resit was more challenging than initially thought, but Lois was incredibly patient and very flexible with time, which helped greatly as I was also working full time. She is a comprehensive knowledge of the subject and the syllabus and helped me to achieve the grade I needed.
