About Leah
I have been told by past and current students that I make them feel safe, heard and inspired to take creative risks. To write from a place of honesty with greater confidence.
I have worked with students of all ages, in traditional school settings and in private sessions.
I take this work very seriously, and understand how intimidating it can be to express oneself in a piece of writing. I therefore treat every student with tremendous respect, and offer them a safe space in which to do meaningful work without anxiety. I will critique your work by pointing out first what works, what resonates, what stays with me. With those positives established, we will then move on to what needs more attention, what needs to be reconsidered, but this will never be done in an unkind, or critical way. You will leave our sessions feeling inspired, not defeated. I believe there is a natural story teller, and therefore a writer, in all of us.

We will start by getting to know one another!
I will answer any questions you may have about my approach in supporting you, and I will ask what your goals are as a writer; what you find most challenging; what sparks your curiosity; what gives you joy. With that knowledge we will create a lesson plan that feels right for you.
I will never treat you as "just another student." You will be seen as the unique individual you are, and I will tailor our sessions to suit your particular needs.
You can either bring a project already in progress, or ask for help getting one started.
No matter your experience, I can help you uncover more clearly what it is you want to express, and help you get it out of your head and on the page. And we will have fun doing it!
