About Kevin

I am an enthusiastic tutor and medical student from UNSW passionate about helping students excel in the NSW Selective School Test. I focus on building strong foundations, boosting confidence and equipping kids with the skills and exam strategies needed to achieve top results. I have had 5 previous students ranging from Year 2-Year 6 that has equipped me with the skills and resources to help your child excel in exams!

About the lesson

OC & Selective School Test Tutoring | Years 2–6

Hi! I'm a UNSW Medicine student with 2 years of tutoring experience, and I'm passionate about helping younger students build the skills and confidence they need to perform their best in the OC and Selective School tests. If your child is in Years 2–6 and preparing for either test, I'd love to help them get there.

What we cover:
Thinking Skills - Sessions run 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your child's current level. We work through exam strategies and past papers to build the kind of logical and creative thinking these tests reward.

Mathematical Reasoning - Sessions run 1 to 1.5 hours. We focus on strengthening problem-solving skills and exam technique in a way that's engaging and manageable for younger learners.

Every session is tailored to where your child is at, with a focus on building real exam skills rather than just drilling content. Past papers are provided, and we use them strategically to make the most of every lesson.
The goal is simple, to make sure your child walks into that test feeling prepared, calm and confident.

Kevin Pham has been a splendiferous teacher. We first met during times where my studies were at an all time low. Kevin shot a light of hope through my test marks through his whimsical methods of education. He is such a fun teacher whilst still having his stern moments. For example, we were exploring the subject of Thinking Skills and Kevin made it so easy for me to think. However, when I made an absolutely silly response he would be give a strong look to tell to rethink my answers. I strongly recommend anyone to just try a learning session with Kevin to deepen your understanding of curricular studies via a fun but effective method.

He explains the concepts well and always provides further explanations if I need to clarify something. His feedback has given me a lot of guidance on where to improve and adds extra tips on how to better elevate my answer. Overall, he’s an excellent tutor and his help has helped me improve my grades.
