About Julie

Hello! My name is Julie, and I am a second-year International Relations student at the University of Edinburgh with a passion for languages, humanities, and helping students achieve their academic goals.

Whether a student is aiming to improve their grades, strengthen their subject knowledge, or gain confidence in a language, I provide personalised support to help them reach their goals.

I look forward to helping students develop their skills, achieve academic success, and enjoy the learning process.

About the lesson

I offer tutoring in French, English, and History for students preparing for important school examinations and coursework. Having previously tutored students, I understand that every learner has different strengths and challenges, so I tailor my lessons to suit each individual's needs and learning style.

My Teaching Approach

My teaching focuses on building both understanding and confidence. I aim to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in lessons.

A typical lesson includes:

* Reviewing previous material and addressing any difficulties
* Explaining key concepts in a clear and accessible way
* Working through examples and practice questions together
* Developing exam techniques and essay-writing skills where appropriate
* Setting achievable goals for continued progress

For language students, I place particular emphasis on vocabulary development, grammar accuracy, reading comprehension, and speaking confidence. For History and English, I help students strengthen their analytical thinking, essay structure, and critical evaluation skills.

- Second-year International Relations student at the University of Edinburgh
