About Layana
I am a third-year medical student at the University of Oxford. I have previously scored top grades in my A-level and GCSE exams and I am keen to help others improve their study techniques and enhance their confidence in their own abilities.
Throughout my time at school, I have picked up several tips and tricks that have helped me do well in exams and assignments and I take joy in being able to share these with others through tutoring.
I strive to make my tutoring sessions as enjoyable and as productive as possible by maintaining a friendly and professional approach. The lessons are flexible and consist of varied types of activities and approaches to learning so that the student is kept interested in the subject area.
In the past, I have tutored several students from primary school to GCSE level and have received positive feedback from all of them, particularly regarding the effectiveness, enjoyability and engaging nature of the tutoring.

I believe that a successful tutor should be able to make a student more confident in approaching their work and equip them with the necessary skills and techniques to ensure that schoolwork becomes as enjoyable as possible. My teaching technique is very flexible and personalised to the student and their needs.
I believe the best way to learn is actively so I focus my tutoring on doing past exam questions and worksheets, with particular attention on problem-solving aspects.
I can offer lessons varying between 1-2 hours and deliver these sessions either online or in-person if located nearby. I teach Maths and Science subjects to students up to and including the GCSE level.
I have previously tutored students between the ages of 10 and 15 in Maths and Science.
