About Sintija
I am on track for a 1st in my Physics Msci degree at Imperial College London. I have graduated school in Lithuania with high marks and a 100/100 on my national Physics exam. I have tutored high school students for a year (2016-2017) in Physics and Maths back in Lithuania. I have been working for a year (2019-present) at the Reach Out Lab in White City, mentoring children and helping them with their projects, which involve the use of laser cutters, Arduino, 3D printers, electronics, etc. I am well equiped to present real life applications of Physics and examples that are interesting and intuitive, having done a lot of projects and lab experiments throughout my years at university. This way the understanding the tuttees will gain will be more than just memorisation of the formulas .

My teaching method that proved to work in the past is quite simple. On the first lesson, I determine which topic the student needs the most help with by giving them a quiz and having a discussion. Then once that is decided I explain the theory briefly, giving examples that aid intuition. I answer any questions that the student might have about my explanation. When it seems clear to the student, we work together through an example problem, applying and solidifying the newfound knowledge. Then I give a few problems for the student to solve on their own. We discuss their solutions and I explain the parts where they made mistakes. At the end of the lesson I ask for the student to explain to me the topic so that I know how much they understand and remember and what needs to be emphasised the next time. Depending on the initial agreement, I can prepare homework questions that the student can do between lessons and grade the solutions. If the student is really struggling and needs more time to understand the topic I am able to recommend reading material and helpful online resources.

Sintija is a highly experienced and professional person that I have known for an extended period of time as her colleague. She is extremely friendly as well and a very good listener, allowing her to cater her teaching style to individual students, or groups of students. From my observations, she is able to effectively tutor and help people of all ages, and as such I couldn't recommend her highly enough!
