About Iara
I recently graduated with a degree in Biology (Pre-Medicine) and a minor in Chemistry and I have university-level tutor experience in Anatomy & Physiology. I'm also fluent in four languages and have experience in medical interpreting, so I'm good at breaking down complex ideas into something easy to understand. Whether you're preparing for exams or need help mastering difficult topics, I'm committed to helping you succeed through personalized, easy-to-understand lessons. I start the tutoring sessions by going over students' strengths, weaknesses, and learning style as a way to approach the session effectively. When going over information, I break it into smaller parts and review it over time, using examples as needed. I make sure to still emphasize the main idea and ask students guiding questions that lead them to discover the answers on their own. I am familiar with different teaching/study styles and able to accommodate to students' needs. During my session, I make sure to continuously give constructive feedback and encouragement. Something that sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to create a supportive environment for students. I am also fluent in 4 languages (English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese) which helps me connect with non-native speakers and make the learning process more relatable. My goal as a tutor is not just to help and teach but also to inspire learners to trust their own abilities so they can continue to grow after our sessions.
