Hello! My name is Yeva, and I am a passionate mathematics student who enjoys helping others succeed in math. Throughout my academic journey, I have consistently excelled in mathematics and have participated in numerous math competitions, earning multiple awards and high placements.
My experience in competitive mathematics has taught me advanced problem-solving techniques, logical reasoning, and creative approaches to challenging questions. These skills allow me to help students not only find the correct answer but also truly understand the underlying concepts.
As a student myself, I understand the difficulties many learners face and know how to explain complex ideas in a simple, clear, and relatable way. Mathematics has always been one of my strongest and favorite subjects, and I enjoy helping others understand it in a simple and enjoyable way. As a student myself, I understand the challenges that many learners face and know how important it is to have explanations that are clear, patient, and easy to follow.
My teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation rather than memorizing formulas. I explain concepts step by step, encourage questions, and adapt each lesson to the student's individual needs and pace. My goal is to help students gain confidence and become independent problem-solvers.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by an explanation of new concepts using examples and visual methods when helpful. We then work through practice problems together before the student tries similar questions independently. I finish each lesson by reviewing key ideas and identifying any areas that may need additional practice.
What sets me apart is both my passion for mathematics and my competitive experience. I have participated in numerous mathematics competitions and have won multiple awards and high placements. These experiences have strengthened my problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and ability to approach mathematical challenges from different angles. I enjoy sharing these techniques with my students and helping them develop confidence when tackling difficult problems.
Because I am currently a student, I can explain mathematics from a learner's perspective and understand which topics are often confusing. I create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
My lessons are designed for elementary and middle school students, as well as anyone looking for help with basic mathematics, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, homework assignments, test preparation, competition preparation, or improving overall mathematical confidence. Lessons are available online and can be taught in either English or Russian.
