About Louis
I’m a friendly, outgoing and motivated professional with a real passion for helping others succeed. I come from a disadvantaged background myself, so I understand how important it is to have the right support and encouragement when you’re trying to achieve your goals. That’s a big part of why I want to teach—I care deeply about social mobility and giving students the confidence and tools they need to thrive, no matter their starting point. Outside of work, I recently spent a summer in the U.S. doing Camp America, which was one of the best experiences of my life! I love meeting new people, staying active, and trying new things. I’m also a big dog lover and spend as much time as I can with my sausage dog, Mylo.

My approach to tutoring is structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on building understanding through clear explanations, real-life examples, and active recall techniques to boost exam performance and confidence. I adapt my teaching style depending on how each student learns best—whether that’s visual, verbal, or step-by-step problem solving. Lessons typically last one hour and are designed to be engaging and focused, with a clear goal in each session. I like to break down complex topics into manageable chunks, check understanding regularly, and use past paper questions to build exam technique over time. I specialise in A-level Business, A-level Psychology, and GCSE Maths. I’ve previously tutored students in Business, helping one go from a grade C to an A*, and I’ve mentored disadvantaged students through university applications—some of whom successfully gained places at Russell Group universities. I’m currently working as a trainee chartered accountant at a top 10 global firm and studying towards my Level 7 ACCA qualification. I offer lessons both online and in person (Liverpool area), and I’m happy to be flexible to fit around students’ schedules.
