About Jay
My name is Jay, I'm 27, and I'm a Trainee Teacher - who is currently completing a PGCE at the University of Roehampton. I can teach students aged 14 to 19, in either GCSE or A Level Sociology.
In 2018, I completed my undergraduate degree in BSc Sociology and received a first-class honours. In addition, I won the department prize for best Sociology dissertation in my year and have tutored students at an undergraduate level.
Since 2018 and before my postgraduate studies, I worked within fostering services for local government. In a variety of roles, I worked as a supervising social worker. In this role I worked directly with young people aged 7 to 18 years old.
I have tutored previously, in helping undergraduate students with essay writing. My student, a social work undergraduate, was receiving consistent 2:1's. Through tutoring together, she completed her degree and came out with a first-class honours.

If I'm lucky enough to have you tutor with me, the first thing we will complete is an initial, free, telephone conversation to discuss what your aims of the tuition will be, what subjects you may be struggling with and what grade you're aspiring to attain. If you feel confident that I am the right tutor for you, we will book in our first session together. I offer both webcam and F2F tuition. You will be fully in control of your tuition and we will focus on the subjects that you feel can be improved - you're the boss! I'm always happy to read over any essays, and will always be happy to offer constructive feedback on these. This feedback will delve into themes such as structure, referencing, punctuation, analysis and comparative content in each piece of formative work.
