With 35 years of experience teaching French, I have the qualities and experience to guide and help learners to communicate French easily. I also accompany people in their learning to present the DELF. My lessons are always animated and go about smoothly.

About the lesson

Interactive teaching is a method that helps learners improve their understanding of the language and exchange their views and opinions. Little by little, students manage with autonomy to engage in debates, strengthen their listening comprehension, express themselves easily and converse with others.

Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?
I live in a French-speaking country. I first learned French at home with my parents and then at school. I decided to specialize in French at university by studying French literature. I've been teaching French ever since. A 35-year-old journey.
Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
Antoine de St. Exupery is my favourite author. His novel "The Little Prince" made me dream of innocence in the world and taught me the true meaning and depth of human values.
Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?
"Mille millions de mille sabords " a humourous derogatory expression coined by captain "Haddock" a character from the comic strip "Tintin" makes me laugh until this day.
Why does speaking this language matter to you?
The French language is a rich language that englobes the history of the kings of France, the castles of la Loire and Versailles, the theater of Moliere and Racine, the music of Lully, and the paintings of David and Monet.
What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
French grammar is complex and varied, it is sometimes difficult for learners to understand some grammatical notions. Dialoguing and interacting with teachers make comprehension of grammar more understandable.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.
When the learner experiences a situation tangibly it becomes easier to grasp the vocabulary of a language. In class, my teachers once brought croissants, pains au chocolat, and crepes to teach my classmates their origin, ingredients list, and preparation instructions before eating everything together.
How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
We progress by practicing a foreign language. Travel facilitates the learning of a new language. It is by communicating with locals and discovering their culture that solidifies our learning experience.
What makes you a Superprof in language?
I taught the french language for 35 years. I have also written academic books to teach 'French as a foreign language' for national institutions. Those experiences taught me the needs of learners and how to transmit knowledge effectively.
