My teaching philosophy is based on Wilhelm von Humboldt's idea that students' educational path should be like a string which provides students with some guidance but also allows them to take their studies in whatever direction they see fit. This is opposed to the 'pouring water into a vessel' approach which has the effect of stifling creativity and tends to reduce a student's level of interest in their work. Thus, lessons will be developed in accordance with the student's particular concerns and needs.
