About Karin
Setting the correct example. Structure, being punctual, patience, friendly, well humored and mannered sets up a professional respectful and calm work environment in which kids thrive.
In my 10+ years experience I have found that children only dislike certain subjects because they either didn't understand it and left it behind OR were simply never made privvy of it, which is my experience with the dislikers of reading. Never having caught the allure of a book stems from probably never being read to. "Hating" math is a product of never being shown the magic of numbers and how that all works. Explaining things logically is always successful in acquiring a fan for the subject.

Creating a fit-to-measure outline how this kid learns best. Keeping it lighthearted and fun, but in a strict and methodical setting. Lots of talking, listening, reading and "play" to make subjects, otherwise perceived as negative (reading and math) a fun game that, once understood, now wants to be repeated.
