About Courtenay
I am a mother of five, I’ve worked as a Nanny, a farmer and a lifeguard/swim instructor so my background is diverse. During my time in university I founded and ran our Physics course union which helped to tutor fellow students through their physics courses. I really enjoyed math and sciences, and I enjoyed teaching them even more. I was never naturally gifted and had to learn through intense study and practice, but this is what also gave me a deeper understanding into the how’s and whys of these subjects, making it easier for me to teach and pass on that knowledge.

I believe that every student has the ability to learn, understand and excel in any subject, it’s just a matter of unlocking their learning style. Everyone learns differently and I’ve spent many years teaching students in different ways.
I begin by accessing where the issue is and working our way back to the root cause of confusion. Often concepts are hard to learn because the base skill is misunderstood or wasn’t taught. Mastery in the basics is important for a strong foundation.
We would then proceed to work through more difficult problems and so on.
