About Sathushi

I am a third-year student with a passion for teaching. I have tutored many children of family friends both as a favour and because I enjoy helping children understand difficult content when they are dealing with frustration or anxiety. As a previous mentor at Netley Primary School with ReachOut, I have recent experience in mentoring children. ReachOut also deals with helping children with their self-esteem and a lack of confidence, and similarly I will aspire to help the children I mentor in this aspect, as in my experience this factor can also play a key role in test performance. I visited a school in Cambodia called Hope School recently to volunteer teaching English, and have experience and confidence in leading large classes of children.

Sathushi was a mentor on the ReachOut programme at Netley Primary School and was brilliant with her mentees, Aliya and Mahima. Both of her mentees loved working with Sathushi. During the programme, she worked directly with her two mentees on their maths and english skills. She was incredibly dedicated, fairly reliable and often took initiative during activities especially when situations arose that meant that I wasn't availble directly or straight away.
