About Manny
I'm a BSc Mathematics and Statistical Science student at UCL, with A*s in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics at A-level. Before that, I spent four years as a Data Analyst at NatWest Group. As part of my role, I ran regular training sessions for colleagues and interns, many of whom told me up front that they weren't "numbers people."
This experience shaped how I teach. When a student struggles with maths, there's usually one specific thing from earlier in the syllabus that they missed, and everything built on top of it has felt incomprehensible ever since. So my first job with a new student is to find that gap. Once it's closed, the difficulty usually turns out to have been far narrower than it felt.

About the lesson

Lessons run for an hour as standard, or 90 minutes for intensive work close to exams. A typical session opens with a short review of what we covered in the last session, moves into new material that we work through together, and ends with a small set of problems to attempt before we next meet. I'll always explain why a method works and not just how to apply it, since true understanding holds up better under exam pressure than robotic memorisation.
I teach GCSE and A-level Maths, including Further Maths, and I'm glad to work with students anywhere on the range from aiming for an A* to having decided they hate the subject.
