About Alicia
Hello! I am a third year Human Sciences student at University College London. I have a diverse range of experience spanning the natural sciences, visual arts and modern foreign languages. I have 10 A*s and 1 A at GCSE and 3 A*a and 2 As at A-Level - I know how to achieve good marks in these public exams and love to pass on my tips and techniques.
I want my students to enjoy learning and so I try to make my lessons fun and enjoyable. It is also very important for me to know that they have understood the content and will feel confident with the subject when I am no longer by their side guiding them.
I worked as an English teacher in Madrid and therefore have experience in working with young people and understanding how the young mind learns and retains new information. I am also studying for an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) qualification which is formally teaching me how students learn. Above all, I believe the fact that I took GCSEs and A-Levels myself in the not too distant past (and achieved good grades!) is the main factor that allows me to tutor successfully.
