About Danny
I am currently going into my third year of studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering at UCL where the maths and physics that is taught in the GCSE and A level courses form the fundamentals of the knowledge being taught. This means I deal with GCSE/A level maths and physics on a day to day basis at university, and if I didn’t understand it as well as I do, I probably wouldn’t have made it this far into the course! When I was at school I started to notice how important it was to understand a subject and not just to remember it, and I also noticed that the good teachers were the ones that could explain something so simply that I wouldn’t have to remember anything, it just became intuitive. This deeper understanding tends to come with time as you progress to higher levels anyways, but it helps to gain it earlier on so that you stay ahead and do amazingly well on your exams as a result. My teaching style mirrors this approach by teaching you the meaning behind things, the purpose of the equations and the sections that compose them and what the real world implications of them are.

Physics and maths aren’t supposed to be about remembering and revising, and they don’t have to be! The best way to excel in these subjects is to try to imagine what’s happening when things change in the equations, and what the real world implications might be. By viewing the subjects like this, you don’t have to remember large quantities of information, you will intuitively be able to understand problems and be able to solve them efficiently. My lessons would typically be an hour (but we can discuss longer lessons if need be) and would be taught at GCSE and A level.
