About Georgia

I'm a recent first-class English Literature graduate from the University of Edinburgh, passionate about inspiring confidence in my students and helping them improve their final grades.

As someone who achieved all A*s at GCSE and A level not too long ago and 100% in A level English Literature, I am confident that I know what examiners are looking for and how to achieve the top marks in exams. Since starting tutoring earlier this year, I have completed over 200 lesson teaching GCSE Maths and Biology and English Literature all the way up until university level and gained experience teaching all of the major exam boards to help students maximise their full potential.

About the lesson

My experience in tutoring has taught me that every child is unique, which is why I tailor all my lessons to the individual student. I always begin by asking the student what areas they want to improve on, whether it is content-filling or exam technique, and then adapt my teaching accordingly. Some examples include:

*Powerpoint presentations or detailed notes on a topic in focus

*Exercises practised together such as past paper questions, planning/structuring essay questions (for literature students) etc.

*Feedback on homework (optional)

Regardless of the subject, an important emphasis in all my lessons is active engagement whether it be through through verbal discussions or answering set questions. My lessons also have a particular emphasis on exam technique including how to plan, structure and write top-mark essays.

Any homework I set will be completely optional, but I will mark anything a student wants to give me. While I believe it is helpful for students to practice what they learn in the lessons on their own, I also understand that students are already very busy with other commitments and do not need any additional pressure.
