About Emily

Hi! My name is Emily and I love both French and teaching. I've had lots of great experiences volunteering in many classrooms and have tutored online since 2019.

It's exciting to teach and to learn a new language. I remember when I was younger and French started to click for me. It suddenly became less overwhelming and honestly rather fun. My goal is to help other students to have that 'aha' moment too.

So, if you're in need of a guiding hand in the chaos of French class I'm here to help. Let's try to make French fun (or at least not as overwhelming)!

About the lesson

In my lessons, I like to build off the student's needs. I'm very flexible and can cater sessions to address what students are struggling with in class, or what they want to practice.

Typically I go over projects the student has been assigned and aid in their completion while making sure the student thoroughly understands the instructions and content.

Then I make sure to check in with the student to see what areas they need to focus on. I go over class material and whatnot to clarify any questions they have.

Once the student has the tools they need to succeed in their school classes, I use my resources to build important reading comprehension skills, speaking skills, and writing skills.

Of course, this plan is just the skeleton, if parents or students require different approaches I'm always open to cooperative communication.

I love what I do and hope to inspire students in grades 1-8 to enjoy french too (or at least help them get through their classes and learn a thing or two).
