About Katie
Before university, I was Head Girl at my previous school. As part of my role, I supported students academically from Year 1 through to Year 12. I have also worked as a sports coach for over two years, which has given me experience in a variety of teaching methods and adapting to different learning styles across a wide range of abilities.
In addition, I gained the rank of Colour Sergeant in the Army Cadet Force has further developed my ability to teach and lead across different age groups and subjects. Through this, I gained a broad range of skills in communication, leadership, and mentoring, while also seeing first-hand the impact that tailoring support to an individual’s learning style can have on their confidence and progress.

I’m Katie and I’m a first-year Computer Science and Mathematics student at the University of Exeter.
Before university, I was Head Girl at my previous school. As part of my role, I supported students academically from Year 1 through to Year 12. I’ve always enjoyed making STEM more accessible and tackling challenging topics. My A-level results are A*A*AA in Geography, Photography, Mathematics, and Computer Science, as well as an A in my EPQ, which explored and evaluated the ethical implications of unmanned combat technology on Western contemporary warfare post-WWII.
