About Demetra
I have 17 years of experience as a paraprofessional working with students who have autism, ages 3-21 years. 2 years of experience as a paraprofessional working with students who have learning disabilities. I am currently a special education teacher. I also have ADHD and understand how difficult it is to get assignments done and stay focused on school, especially if it is a topic that is not of interest. I also understand that difficulties in learning come from needing topics to be taught differently, not from not being able to learn. I am willing to listen and think of new ways to help my students focus, learn, and have fun doing so.

I am a special education teacher who believes that learning should be fun and hands-on. My favorite subjects are history, literature, and science. Because with history and literature you can write plays and perform them to make learning fun to do. With science, you can do hands-on experiments that make learning enjoyable.
