About Mitchell
University of Adelaide student currently heading into 3rd year of bach of Civil and Structural Engineering (hon) w/ bach of finance.
Currently I am a distinction level student however in highschool I completed Math Methods, Physics, Chemistry & Literary English.
I specialise in mathematics and physics with alot of attention paid to understanding and core development. However my scope is much larger and as I have progressed I have learnt much more in retrospect about all my covered topics as I utilise my knowledge moving forward.

My teaching method is to form a connection with the student(s). In a group setting I want to make sure that I am both heard and understood by everyone. I find it's very easy to pretend to understand as a group until you are asked to perform individually. So of course individual tasks would be included for groups.
The focus is to discover what the student already knows. Where they fall over and what their train of thought is when presented with that kind of problem. Much of the core understanding of a problem needs only to be explained in a few different ways in order to be understood by the majority. However, I understand that questions force lateral thinking, which some people aren't great at.
The best way to build understanding is to form a rudimentary link that the student can understand and hold on to. Then it is manipulated to fut the question, before finally being explored and solved.
