I’m a University of Alberta grad (BSc in Psychology, Neuroscience specialization), and I tutor students one-on-one so they can get unstuck, ask the “silly” questions, and feel good about the material.

About Kaitlyn
I started tutoring in high school and have returned to it throughout the years because I genuinely enjoy helping students see how science works. I’m about to start medical school, and my favorite part of tutoring is still the moment a difficult concept finally clicks! I break complex topics down into their basic building blocks, then we reinforce them with practice problems, discussion, spaced repetition, and other research-backed learning strategies. My goal is for students to truly understand the material rather than memorize it, so it stays with them well beyond the exam!

Every student learns differently, so I build each lesson around the student and what they’re studying in class. I like to explain a concept a few different ways, using diagrams, talking it through, and working practice problems together, because it sticks better when you’ve seen it, heard it, and tried it yourself. I mainly work with high school students in all the sciences, and I focus on making tough topics feel manageable so students leave sessions feeling more sure of themselves.
