About Athena
I have always loved math, as a student in school, to a degree in University as well as tutoring it is always a passion I have had. I believe that with the right tools, anyone can succeed in mathematics. As a graduate from the University of Alberta Education program, specializing in grades 7-12 mathematics, I have learned many new techniques to support students in learning mathematics.

When I work with students a typical session would look like... going over what material has been taught during school, then moving on to where the student is finding themselves getting stuck. We would then go through techniques to get unstuck, such as creating steps to follow when solving a problem, this tool will allow students to have something to reference back to in-order to get unstuck. Then, we would complete some questions together using this step by step method and finally I would allow the students to complete a few questions themselves.
