About Katie
I am a 1st year student at QUB studying Biochemistry. I achieved 4 As in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics at A level and at GCSE I achieved 6A* grades and 4A grades. I am extremely passionate about science - I have always had a keen liking towards these subjects and a natural understanding. I love to help others and during my time in secondary school I was a personal tutor and a Peer Mentor - I loved helping those who didn't quite understand my subjects and watching them grow to enjoy them as they grew to understand it more.
I aim to help those who may find stress or anxiety in the areas and topics they struggle with and aim to overcome these struggles so that they can achieve high standard results and pursue careers within the field of scientific study. This involves many techniques such as: recall and retrieval work, personalised worksheets and exams and one to one breakdowns of key areas of concern. My lessons will be an environment where students feel they can be open about their academic struggles without the associated anxiety or stress. Lesson length is tailored to the need of the student and can range from 30 minutes to 2 hours if needed. My lessons target students in secondary education struggling with science.

Lessons structured and tailored to accommodate each individual student and their learning needs. The aim is to make understanding and learning these subjects something enjoyable and not stressful. This will be the time that a student can express their concerns about their subjects in school and I will help them overcome their worries to feel more confident and educated towards the key struggles.
