About David
My name is David, I am going into my third year at the University of Bristol and I am studying Mechanical Engineering. I have been tutoring for 4 years privately, and while on a year out I interned for 6 months at a school, helping a range of students with their maths and science work in preparation for their GCSE's and A-Level exams.
I am a relaxed and friendly tutor, I understand that people struggle a lot in these subjects and I will always take my time and try to really help you understand the subject that you are taking. I am also very adaptable, tutoring is a two way street. If you have a preferred way of doing things, whether it be working through examples or more in depth teaching of the subject, I will happily change my strategy to help you. If you don't know what you want, we can start somewhere and decide where to go from there! No matter what grade you are working towards I will be there to help you and hopefully exceed your expectations.

My tutoring takes the approach of getting students to really understand the subject that they are being taught, with lots of discussions and examples taking place, working through step by step. In addition to this, when exam season is looming, I heavily study past papers with students, recognising repeating patterns and problems so that students are left feeling confident when taking their exams.
With 4 years of tutoring experience, along with a 6 month internship at a school providing tutoring for a range of students, I am well equipped to deal with a wide range of abilities, whether it be students aiming for top grades or trying to just pass.
Having achieved A*A*A* in maths, physics and chemistry and eight grade 9's and two grade 8's at GCSE I am very familiar with the school system and helping people exceed their targets. A typical lesson length would be 1 hour, but very happy to provide more if wanted.
