About Emily
I am a music graduate of the University of Cambridge with a year of experience tutoring music theory, GCSE and A Level music. I have developed a solid and detailed understanding of music theory and have a lot of experience in one on one supervision sessions. I'm keen to adapt my teaching to suit students individually so to give them a thorough understanding of music theory.

I approach teaching in a calm, friendly and patient manner; with sessions being organised in whatever structure best suits the student. My priority is always that my pupil understands theories and concepts fully so that they feel they have all the tools to work out difficult questions. This means finding alternative ways of explaining these concepts and multiple methods for solving questions so that you always have your basic understanding and knowledge to fall back on. I have experience with the ABRSM Theory exam syllabus (all grades) and the Edexcel GCSE and A Level Music courses. I am happy to teach Trinity Theory exams (all grades) as well as AQA and OCR GCSE and A Level courses (or any other musical exams students might need help with).
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
I’ve known Emily for 2 years at Cambridge and she is an efficient, organised and skilled musician. As a teacher, she understands the different needs of each pupil and I have seen her tailor lessons to these various needs. She is kind and caring too; an all-round excellent tutor.
I have known Emily for three years and have seen her achieve excellent results for herself at Univeristy, both academically and musically. She has proven herself capable of imparting her work ethic and knowledge on to others. She is patient and kind and I believe that this makes her an excellent tutor, combing an expert subject knowledge with a positive and encouraging tutoring approach.
Emily has a very good degree in music from Cambridge. She is conscientious, well organised and a great communicator. She makes a great tutor.
