About Lily
Hello - it is lovely to *virtually* meet you! I’m Lily, a recent graduate of Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge, where I read History of Art. I also hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Law. Please feel free to get in touch if you think I might be able to help – I’d love to hear more about your aspirations and how I can support you in reaching them.
My Background:
Now living in London, I am originally from York, where I attended a historic day/boarding school in the city from the ages of 3-18. During Sixth Form, I received 5/5 offers from top UK universities (Cambridge, St Andrews, UCL, Exeter, and the Courtauld Institute), as well as a separate unconditional offer from Nottingham and an offer from McGill University in Canada. I also deeply considered attending college in the US, and consequently attended many insight events, college fairs and open days. As such, I’m particularly familiar with both UK and North American university systems and can help navigate both routes if this is of interest to you.
My Experience:
While at Cambridge, I worked for my college on 'interview days', supporting applicants staying on campus ahead of these important and nerve-wracking events. I also had the pleasure of representing the college at 'open days', providing applicants with key information and delivering tours. In terms of tutoring, over the past few years, I have supported many students with both personal statement drafting and interview preparation. A recent success story is that of one pupil, who comes from an area and school with low progression to higher education, to achieve 5/5 elite university offers for BA Geography - I am delighted to say she will be starting at Durham soon! In addition, I have experience tutoring young people in specific subjects, having worked as a French Classroom Assistant alongside Year 7-9 pupils as well as a 1-1 Harp Instructor on music courses with those aged 8-18.
My Academic Credentials:

- LLM, BPP University (2024 - to date)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Law, BPP University (2023 - 2024)

Having significantly benefited from tutoring during school, I can understand the needs of both students and parents alike. Recognising that every student is different, I will always happily tailor my approach to what suits you best.
How I Can Help:
I would be delighted to support you with:
- Researching and shortlisting the best universities, courses, and Oxbridge colleges for you – tailored to your interests, ambitions, and academic strengths;
- Crafting outstanding personal statements and university applications – particularly for humanities subjects and top-tier institutions (including Oxbridge, the Russell Group, and leading global universities); and
- Preparing for university interviews and entrance exams – including mock interviews, subject-specific discussion practice, confidence-building techniques, and written exam practice.
What Lessons Look Like:
Lessons/review work are entirely flexible and tailored to your needs, but here are some potential structures:
- Single sessions can be perfect for focused personal statement editing, application strategy sessions, or mock interviews;
- Bundles of sessions work particularly well for students preparing a full application over time (e.g. we might spend a few sessions on course or university selection, a few on personal statement drafts, one or two on interview prep, etc); and
- I am also happy to offer intensive half-day or full-day support if you're working to a tight deadline or want to immerse yourself in the process.
All sessions can be available online via Zoom or your preferred platform. I am also available in person in London / the surrounding areas (subject to distance and a small travel fee), as I know that for some tutees this is preferred. I’m very happy to accommodate afternoons/evenings after school, or weekends, as needed – just let me know what works for you.
