About Samukelisiwe

I am currently studying part-time towards my Honours Degree in Applied Linguistics through UNISA, I have taught English and Geography before as a substitute teacher, I am offering lessons for all grades in English Language and Geography, as guided by CAPS. These lessons take place online or I can travel to your home.

About the lesson

As a teacher, in my classes I use two methods, the learner-centred method and the interactive and participative method. I also encourage my learners to construct their own knowledge because I believe that no learner is an empty vessel. This is where I apply the constructivism theory of learning. Constructivist learning theory states that all knowledge is constructed from a base of prior knowledge. As such, children are not to be treated as a blank slate, and make sense of classroom material in the context of his or her current knowledge. Group work and class discussions allow my students and I to share ideas and experiences. Classes become exciting and learning takes place in a homely and friendly environment.
