About Brisa
I’m a dedicated and patient tutor with over three years of experience working at the FAU Math Learning Center, where I’ve helped students of all levels build confidence and improve their understanding of math. I’ve also co-founded a tutoring business, which has given me experience working with a wide range of students and learning styles. As a college student, I understand the challenges that come with difficult concepts, and I focus on explaining material in a way that actually clicks. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, allowing me to support a diverse range of students. My goal is not just to help you get the right answer, but to make sure you truly understand the process and feel confident solving problems on your own.

I focus on making math actually make sense instead of just memorizing steps. My teaching style is patient, interactive, and tailored to each student’s learning style. I break concepts down into simple ideas and use real-life examples so students truly understand what they’re doing.
A typical lesson includes reviewing problem areas, practicing step-by-step together, and building independent problem-solving skills. I also teach strategies for tests and homework so students feel confident on their own.
What sets me apart is my ability to adapt, whether a student needs slow, detailed explanations or fast-paced review, I adjust to them. My lessons are great for middle school, high school, and early college students who want to improve grades, prepare for exams, or finally feel confident in math.
