About Alexandra

I have a BA Hons degree in Early Childhood Studies and I have been a tutor for 3 years but have worked with children for the past 11. I have previously worked in a Sunday for 3 years where I planned lessons every week, and, I have also been a classroom assistant where I worked with the lowest ability groups in the class and helped them with their classwork, as well as a nanny where I have helped my charges with homework. I specialise in English, maths and science for children aged between 5-11 (so primary/elementary level). I have a particular interest in helping children with dyslexia find methods to help them work around it, improve their confidence in their work and help them understand that they can achieve anything they put their mind to. I have also prepared children for their 7+, 11+ and SATs KS2 tests.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching is to focus on the strengths of my pupils to help them overcome their weaknesses, this is to enable them to see that they can do anything they put their mind to, I also try to make my sessions as fun as possible to keep my students engaged.
