About Tyla
I am 20 years old and have attended University of Toronto, Carleton University and now currently the University of Waterloo. My experience with high school and university have both been hard as I was not always an A+ student. Yet, I still have managed to achieve a high grade point average and that is because I learned to understand what I am being taught and I learned how to study efficiently. The key to doing well in school is not the ability to retain 5 months of content and reiterate it on a 4 page exam, but rather to actually understand what you are learning and why. My overall goal is to teach you how to learn class content and study without it being a tedious chore.

My goal is to have the student I am tutoring to actually understand the content, rather than focusing on their ability to be tested on the content.
However, I have a plethora of study tips and test prep skills to teach, but again stressing the importance of understanding the content rather than memorization.
I struggled in my first two years of high school because I did not know how to study efficiently and I plan to share what I have learnt with the students I will be helping.
