About Gillian
Hi there! I'm Gill, and I have been a musician for nearly my whole life.
I started with piano at the age of three, and have only continued to love and develop my passion for music and piano.
By the age of 14, I completed my AMEB classical 8th grade, and have been venturing different genres and types of music on the piano, including jazz and improvisation
I now study at the University of Melbourne, doing a Bachelor of Music on clarinet.

Whilst musicians use similar techniques and learn the same basics, learning music is a personalised journey, and so I hopefully can come to inspire and support the basic needs of the student, as well as be open to teaching fun and different tips and tricks.
To me, music is as amazing as it is through a solid foundation of understanding the basics(not just playing on the piano, but also understanding the music itself and its background), so whilst we may come to learn an extensive range of songs and repertoire, I'll always continue to remind and enforce the importance of technical work and our basic knowledge and exercises.
