Hi! I am a University of Melbourne science student with a passion for English - whether that be literature, language, writing, or more! I obtained an >40 study score in English Literature at VCE Level and I can help you do the same :)

About the lesson

Do you have a big assignment coming up? Feeling nervous about an upcoming exam? Or do you just need a little more support in English? I've been tutoring for 6 years and, trust me, I've seen it all :) I offer highly personalized lessons with a heavy focus on feedback and skills work - so not only can you smash that exam or assignment, you can actively improve your English skills as well! My lessons are highly adaptable, so we can focus on improving comprehension of classwork as well as polishing any other areas of improvement! Typical activities involve reviewing teacher feedback together, workshopping ideas, trial and error writing, giving personalized feedback, and personalized activities targeted to polish and improve your weak spots.

Excellent! Edie is a great tutor. We were however disappointed she was unwilling to continue teaching our yr 6 son, because she “struggled to engage with him online and felt he may benefit from working with a different tutor!” Wow-that’s a first!
Firstly online is tricky for any active tween, therefore it’s vital to come prepared. We felt disappointed by her text response and wish she had taken into consideration it was a first lesson and online is always difficult which is why we never go down that road. We were accomodating Eddie’s circumstances for that first session. Will look for another tutor to assist on Mondays. Candice from Doncaster.

This student is clearly very bright, however is showed a complete unwillingness to engage that made it difficult to progress. I unfortunately didn’t feel that I would be able to make meaningful progress with him, and would recommend a different tutor who may connect and inspire the student to participate more. I understand that English is not every student’s favourite subject, but it’s still important to have a willingness to learn that I didn’t quite see from this student - but I really hope that he finds a tutor who excites him a bit more about English than I can :)

She is so much more confident and is finally getting the marks that she wants and even more importantly, she is enjoying learning. When she first started seeing Edie, I was worried since Edie is so young, but she is very mature and is so good with kids, my little girl really respects her and looks up to her (she is such a good influence). Details

I charge $55 for non-VCE students and $65 for VCE students. I am also available for essay marking and written feedback at a flat rate of $20 per hour (4 pages of writing). Cancellation Policy: 24 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson - otherwise you will still be charged the full amount (this is flexible given personal circumstances). I will also always endeavor to give you a minimum of 24+ hours notice if there is a cancellation or rescheduling on my end.
