About Vivi
Hello! I'm Vivi, your dedicated tutor with a passion for education. With over five years of tutoring experience, I've developed a unique approach that empowers students to unlock their full potential. Although originally from Chicago, currently, I'm a student at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, majoring in Biochemistry and Classical Studies on a pre-law track.
During the pandemic, I founded "Positive Reactions," a program teaching Chemistry and Science to students who missed out on a robust science experience due to at-home learning. Its success led to invitations from local schools, libraries, and organizations like United Way, where I expanded my teaching to underserved communities of all ages. This journey continued as I accepted invitations to teach students of all ages, from elementary to high school, across Chicago, focusing on making science accessible to all. I also spent four years as a high school peer tutor, specializing in Latin and Science, witnessing numerous students transform their grades and understanding. I've also developed "Marvelous Myths," a program exploring Latin and Mythology, winning an Ascanius Grant to earn the funding to bring it to after-school programs at organizations like United Way of Waukegan and local libraries.
My tutoring style emphasizes encouragement and fostering deep understanding, not just memorization, ensuring that every student's learning journey is both enriching and enjoyable. Let's embark on this educational adventure together!
