About Christopher

I graduated from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Psychological Science and a Bachelor of Commerce, where I achieved a distinction average. During my psychology degree, I completed multiple statistics and research methods subjects, which involved data analysis, experimental design, SPSS, and interpreting research findings.

Through studying psychology, I developed a strong understanding of statistics not just as math, but as a tool for understanding research, human behavior, and data. I know that many university students struggle with statistics because it is often taught in a very technical or confusing way, so I focus on explaining concepts in simple terms and helping students understand the logic behind statistical tests rather than just memorizing formulas.

My psychology background also means I understand how learning and memory work, so I teach students evidence-based study techniques such as active recall, practice testing, and spaced repetition to help them learn more effectively and prepare for exams.

I have experience helping university students with statistics, research methods, assignments, and data analysis, and I enjoy helping students go from feeling completely lost in statistics to actually understanding what they are doing and why.

I am patient, easy to talk to, and I understand that statistics can be stressful for many students, so I try to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through problems step-by-step.

My goal is not just to help students pass their statistics subjects, but to help them actually understand statistics and research, which will help them throughout university and in their future careers.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured around what the student is currently learning at university and what they are struggling with. Most students come to statistics feeling overwhelmed or confused, so my main goal is to break concepts down step-by-step in a simple and easy to understand way.

A typical lesson might include going through lecture content, explaining statistical concepts, working through tutorial questions, helping with assignments, or preparing for exams. I also help students understand when and why to use different statistical tests, not just how to calculate them.

I tutor topics such as descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, t-tests, ANOVA, correlation, regression, research methods, reliability and validity, experimental design, and data analysis using SPSS. I can also help with interpreting results, writing results sections, and understanding journal articles and research papers.

My background in psychology means I also teach students effective study techniques and ways to learn statistics more efficiently, because statistics is not just about math, it’s about understanding concepts and applying them correctly.

Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but longer sessions are available if students need help with assignments or exam preparation.

My goal is to help students not only pass statistics, but actually understand it and feel confident with research and data analysis going forward.
