Knowledge of Mathematics
Extensive knowledge of mathematics with multiple courses in algebra, geometry, statistics, calculus and other areas of mathematics at the college level. Ability to confidently explain concepts and processes to the students.
Teaching Strategies
Finding the best practices in math education and regularly incorporating them into my instruction to help all of my students learn. I also understand there may be multiple ways to solve problems and use those alternate strategies to help struggling students grasp difficult concepts.
Approach
Facilitator of learning, providing students with the knowledge and tools to solve problems and then encouraging students to solve them on their own. Help the students to figure out where they went wrong and to keep working at the problem until they get the correct answer, providing support and guidance where needed.
