About Maya
When I first started high school, I had no prior education on essay writing. When I needed help, I couldn't turn to my parents, as english was not their first language, and I couldn't afford a tutor either. In addition, when I would go to my teachers for help, the feedback was always vague and unclear. After a lot of self-correction, perserverence, and determination, I was able to not only graduate with a 90% average, but I was also able to receive admissions into one of the most competitive design programs in Canada, in which the supplementary essay played a significant role. Now I write papers every week; whether it be research based or argumentative, all my papers have scored no less than an 87%.

My lessons are very student-centered and personalized. I cater to the students needs and work towards turning weaknesses into strengths. Typically I will start out with a consultation and get to know the student based on their experience(s) with writing essays at the academic level, afterwards I will proceed with an orientation explaining the basics of essay writing and provide feedback on past works (if any). The orientation session is optional but is highly recommended. Sessions thereafter will be based around small in class assignments, critiques, Q&A's, as well constructive feedback on any school assignments. I also provide exclusive feedback sessions for College/University supplementary essays. Additionally, I provide resume/cover letter writing workshops and one-on-one interview prep sessions!
