About Jess
I am an undergraduate psychological science student at Griffith University, with a passion for English Literature and teaching. I took both English and Literature in my final years of high school and excelled at both, achieving an ATAR of 95.3.
I am an enthusiastic tutor, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge of the English subject with students who would like some extra support. I believe English is often overlooked as unimportant or less academically driven. However, with the right knowledge, skills and support, doing well in English is achievable and rewarding. Improving your English skills can improve your academic performance in almost every subject!

I specialise in teaching high school English, grades 7 to 12. However, I am also able to teach primary school English.
I believe in tailoring lessons to meet the individual student's needs . My initial tutoring sessions are centred around assessing the needs of the student, and working together to identify the first English subject area of focus. That may be general skills such as grammar or reading comprehension, or more specific homework or assignment related tasks.
I specialise in teaching essay writing, creative writing and helping students identify key areas of the assignment criteria to ensure academic success.
Lessons typically run for an hour, however I am flexible and able to tailor lesson lengths to the requirements of my students.
In my final two years of high school, I took two English subjects, English and Literature, and achieved an ATAR of 95.3. I am currently completing my 2nd year of a bachelor of Psychological Science at Griffith University. My current GPA is 6.67 out of 7.
I have 5 years of experience teaching children and adolescents.
