About Sarah
I am a student at the University of Virginia, and I have been tutoring ever since my freshman year of high school. I teach a variety of subjects, but I find myself most passionate when it comes to teaching English. I have been a huge fan of reading ever since I was in elementary school, and I enjoy uncovering symbolism and themes within reputable works. I was Editor-in-Chief of my high school's newspaper and have tutored other students in the writing center, and I also have taken multiple English-related courses such as: creative writing, AP Language and Composition, and AP Literature and Composition. As a result, I am familiar with many styles of writing and know what teachers are looking for.

I like to hone in on weaknesses within my individual students, and together we can work to strengthen their shortcomings. For example, I may spend more time on going over grammar, teaching what makes an interesting story, reviewing methods to edit writing properly, or reading and analyzing literature together to enhance critical thinking skills. I tailor classes to an individual's need as time progresses.
