I tutor middle and high school students in pre-algebra, algebra, and trigonometry. My approach is focused on building real understanding rather than memorizing steps. Many students struggle because it was explained in a way that didn’t click. My goal is to explain concepts from different angles until they make sense.
A typical lesson starts by identifying where the confusion starts. From there, I break the concept down into smaller, manageable pieces and work through examples step by step. We practice together first, then gradually move toward independent problem-solving so students build confidence, not just short-term answers.
I also have personal experience with ADHD, which gives me insight into how attention, frustration, and mental overload can affect learning. I structure sessions clearly, keep explanations concise, and adjust pacing based on the student’s focus and energy. If one explanation doesn’t work, I will pivot and try another approach.
My lessons are best suited for middle and high school students who want clearer explanations, more confidence, and stronger foundational skills in math. Whether a student is trying to improve grades, prepare for exams, or simply feel less overwhelmed by math, I aim to create a calm, structured learning environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are part of the process.
