About Henry
I'm currently undergoing an honours program at university in international relations. I have always had an interest in education and learning, but in the past few years this has been specific to my own learning. However, I would like to broaden my perspective and help others be better and more confident learners. I believe tutoring is the perfect path for doing so, as I have found in the past when I have tutored HSC students.

I teach students of all levels and ages, but prefer to work with students in the later stages of their education. My methodology for teaching students is all about giving them the confidence and the abilities to succeed on their own. While this sometimes gets lost in the short term when students are studying for tests and exams, I believe that this drives my strategies in all lessons. In terms of specifics, my lessons last anywhere from 1 hour to up to 3 hours, and are usually co-designed with my students/parents depending on their needs. For example, if students find they are struggling a lot with a particular concept, we could spend the majority of a session on that, while still leaving some time to focus on expectations forupcoming classes. In my time as a tutor I have learnt a lot about how to best deliver difficult concepts to students, and my approach generally starts from the broad and works down to the specific. For a mathematical example, I would start by explaining the concept in question, and maybe give some additional background on why it is important/how it has been used, before moving on to example questions that increase in complexity.
