About Alister
I am studying biomedical engineering and medical science at Sydney University and I have been teaching HSC mathematics for over 12 months now. I acheived band 6 in extention 1 and 2 mathematics and have continued my proficiency and communication skills at Uni in Algebra and Calculus.

I prioritise helping students come to a better understanding of the concepts underlying common mathematical problems over rote-learning solutions where mistakes are easily repeated. My methodology is to help students with questions they feel they are struggling with, and to ask students to explain their thought processes to access the gap in their understanding. I can then more easily highlight where they may be going wrong and to suggest tips to avoid this in future.
